Kanwaljit’s extensive professional experience spans over 30 years, during which he has worked with Unilever, Intel, and Carlyle. Today, he is a prominent angel and VC investor with a keen interest in the food, technology, and consumer industry.  Kanwaljit’s investment portfolio comprises several notable brands, including Paper Boat, ID Fresh, Epigamia, Hokey Pokey, Yogabar, Goodness Beverages, Licious, Mama Earth, Vahdam Teas, and Fable Street. He is also the founder of Fireside Ventures, an early-stage fund focused on investing in consumer-oriented companies.

Meenakshi Ramesh

Meenakshi Ramesh is a promoter of the Menterra Social Impact Fund and an angel investor who has funded multiple startups in education, healthcare, agriculture, and logistics. She is also a key contributor at Pratham Education Foundation and a board member of Schizophrenia Research Foundation since 2013. Meenakshi has previously worked with Credit Rating Information Services of India Limited (CRISIL) in Mumbai, where she gained valuable expertise in financial analysis and rating methodologies.

Shoba Barnes

Shoba has over two decades of experience in administration and secretarial functions. She has worked in multiple organisations, supporting leadership positions like CEOs, Directors and Vice Presidents. Prior to joining Menterra, Shoba worked as Personal Assistant to Mr. Prakash Padukone, a legendary badminton player. At Menterra, Shoba manages all travel, logistics & vendors

Vijay Mahajan

Vijay is a distinguished social entrepreneur and a revered mentor in his field, with over four decades of professional experience.Throughout his illustrious career, Vijay has demonstrated remarkable leadership, having founded India’s premier social enterprise, ‘BASIX’, and the esteemed NGO, ‘Pradan’. He has served on esteemed committees, including the Raghuram Rajan Committee on Financial Sector Reforms, the C Rangarajan Committee on Financial Inclusion, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority, and the Microfinance Development and Equity Fund. Vijay mentors Menterra’s team and navigates politics, economics, policy, social development, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

Villgro

Villgro is India’s oldest leading social enterprise incubator. Founded in 2001, Villgro has supported over 400 impactful startups. Villgro now helps set up social incubators in India and abroad by partnering with existing incubators and local entrepreneurs. In the recent past, Villgro supported social incubation in several institutions, including IIM-Calcutta, IIT-Kanpur, Startup Oasis, and KIIT Bhubaneswar, to fund more than 100 entrepreneurs in eight low-income states. Villgro has also partnered with local entrepreneurs to establish social incubators in Kenya, Philippines, and Vietnam.
